- Reality World TV Interview With Jordan
Jordan Lloyd thought her chance of winning Big Brother was a toss-up -- until she realized how much the jury members had soured on Natalie Martinez. As a result, the 22-year-old waitress from Matthews, NC wonBig Brother 11's $500,000 grand prize on by a 5 to 2 jury vote during Tuesday night's live finale broadcast of the CBS reality series. On Wednesday, Jordan talked to Reality TV World about why she felt the jury's vote would be a toss-up; if she thinks she would have been able to defeat third-place finisher Kevin Campbell if she had taken him to the Final 2; why she formed such a close alliance with Jeff Schroeder and how it helped her in the game; and what the current status of her relationship with him is. Reality TV World: Congratulations. Jordan: Thank you Reality TV World: So right up to your final statement to the jury you expressed a belief that it would be difficult for you to beat either Natalie or Kevin in the Final 2. Based on that, I take it you were surprised to win the grand prize? Jordan: Whenever [host Julie Chen]pulled my name out first and I had America's Vote, I was like, "Wow. Maybe I think I have a shot at beating her." I didn't think I had [Jessie Godderz'] vote. Well I kind of thought it when he walked up and said, "Jordan, hakuna matata." I was like, "Okay, is he saying no worries being sarcastic, or is he being smart? What is he doing?" I just didn't think I had his vote. I knew I didn't have Kevin's vote or [Russell Kairouz'vote]. So I knew it was a toss-up. I knew I would lose for sure over Kevin, but with Natalie it would be 50/50. At least I would have a shot at winning. Reality TV World: So when you said you didn't think you had a chance you were just kind of playing along? Jordan: I really didn't think I had a shot against Kevin. I thought with Natalie I might have a shot. But I did think I would come in second place because all of their friends were in the jury house. Reality TV World: Obviously Jessie's vote was a surprise to you, what about Lydia Tavera's vote? Jordan: When Natalie was talking to Lydia [during the finale] and I could see the faces Lydia was making, it was kind of not like a good face. So I just assumed that Lydia was voting for me because she said, when she was [casting her vote], "I always love a good blonde." I was like, "Alright, she voted for me." Reality TV World: But before that happened, did you have an opinion about which way you expected her to vote? Jordan: Um... It was a toss-up because I'm the one that put her on the block when I was HoH and got her out. Then her andNatalie acted like they were friends. But then her and Natalie would always say they hated each other. I just didn't know if she would vote for me to get revenge for me putting her up on the block or if she would vote for me. So it was kind of a toss-up. Reality TV World: Did you get to see Natalie's reaction when Julie revealed Jessie had voted for you instead of her? Jordan: No, I didn't see her facial reaction. Reality TV World: Okay, because they didn't seem to show her reaction on the show either, that's why I was asking -- they were focusing on yours instead. What went into your decision to take Natalie to the Final 2 instead of Kevin? Was it only based on the fact that you thought the jury might reward Kevin for being a strong competitor? Jordan: I really did. I thought that everybody didn't like Jeff because he used the Coup d'Etat on Jessie. So I figured that [Kevin] had Jessie's vote, he had Russell's vote, he had Lydia's vote. I knew Jeff and [Michele Noonan] would vote for me. Then I knew Kevin was so funny that I figured America would vote for him. So my gut kept telling me not to take him,so that's why I didn't. Reality TV World: So it wasn't that you expected the jury to be so hostile towards Natalie? Jordan: Yeah! I had no clue! I didn't even think they had turned on her. Reality TV World: Was it just a case of you felt you couldn't defeat Kevin versus [the two of you] having different feelings about [taking] Natalie? Jordan: When me and Kevin would talk, I would just tell him, "You can't take Natalie because she's got..." This is kind of like strategy. I kept telling him, "You can't take Natalie. She's got all friends in the jury house," and make him believe that. Because if I lost [the final HoH competition] I had to have my tracks covered. I wanted him to take me instead of her. When really ,he probably would have won against her. I think anybody now --thinking back on it -- would have won against Natalie because I can tell from the audience and the jury members that she wasn't very liked very much. Reality TV World: Did you believe Kevin when he was saying he was going to take you to the Final 2 if he won the final HoHcompetition? Jordan: Um... I was iffy about it. I wasn't really for sure. He told Jeff he wouldn't put him on the block and that he was safe if he won HoH, and he ended up sending Jeff home that week. So I didn't know if he was just telling me and feeding me a bunch of B.S. or if he was being for real. Reality TV World: Knowing what you know now, do you think you still would have won had you chosen to take Kevin? Jordan: I don't know. There could have been... Maybe not. I don't think so. I think Kevin would have won if me and him had gone up against each other. Reality TV World: What was going through your mind during the third round of the final HoH competition? Were you confident you'd be able to beat Kevin in the challenge? Jordan: In the final round of the HoH I wasn't confident at all. I was already assuming, "Alright, Kevin's going to win. He's going to beat me." Then when we did the tie breaker and I was one point away, I was just like, "Oh my gosh!" It was like the best feeling in the world. Reality TV World: How did you come so close by picking 50? Was it a complete guess? Jordan: Yeah! Fifty was a complete guess because I was like, "Well, I have no clue. But it's in the middle, so I'll just pick 50." Reality TV World: Had Natalie and Kevin made it to the Final 2, would you have followed through with your promise and voted for Natalieto win? Jordan: Yeah, if Kevin would have evicted me I probably would have voted for Natalie. Reality TV World: It might seem kind of obvious now, but did you really think Natalie was only 18? Jordan: I can honestly say I did. She always seemed so innocent. She never wore makeup and she wore bigger clothes so she looked like a little girl to me. I thought she acted younger than her age. She definitely tricked me for sure. Reality TV World: I don't know how much you've talked to the jury members [yet], but do you think that lie played a role in her losing? Jordan: No, I don't think her age played that big of a role. Jessie knew about it. No. I really don't think it really had anything to do with it. I think a lot of people just didn't like her. Reality TV World: What was your own opinion of Natalie? Jordan: In the beginning I hated her. I thought she was a brat. As me and her got to know each other better, I really started liking her. Reality TV World: You and Natalie spent a majority of the season on opposite ends of the house, however she compared you to one of her girlfriends back home after you beat her in the second round ofthe final HoH competition. Do you think she was being sincere or just trying to get on your good side? Jordan: I think it might have been a little bit of both. Of course she was trying to be on my good side because she needed me if I won. I think she was... I think it was probably a little bit of both. I'm kind ofconfused now because I found out all this stuff about how she lied about all this stuff. I didn't even think she did. So now I'm just so confused about her. I feel like I didn't even know her! Reality TV World: What was your take on Natalie's lie about her Pandora's Box decision? Do you think it would have been better for her had she just told the truth from the beginning? Jordan: I never understood that. I don't know why she felt like she had to lie. I thought that was kind of weird. But I guess if she felt like that was the right thing to do... I don't know why she had to lie about an engagement. I thought that was really weird. Reality TV World: Would you have made the same decision as Natalie about Pandora's Box? Jordan: I would have probably done it. I would have probably picked time to spend with a loved one, just because you haven't seen them in so long and just that item to get to talk to them,it might make you feel a little bit better and make your spirits feel better and you might have more confidence in the game. Reality TV World: You said part of your strategy heading into the house was to lay low and not trust anyone, however you seemed to build a very trusting relationship with Jeff. Did that surprise you? Jordan: Not at all. Whenever Jeff... He shared a room with us girls when we first all moved in the house. He was so nice and so funny and then the whole "technotronics" thing happened and I just... I don't know. I just saw something in him and I was like, "he's so nice. He's not like other guys and he's not like all the guys in this house." I respect him. I just knew he wasn't a bad person and he was someone I knew I would want to align myself with. Reality TV World: Do you think you still could have gotten so far if Jeff hadn't been there? Jordan: No. I think Jeff helped me through everything, even like talking me through emotional ways. he was always saying, "Stay positive. Don't get down." Even when I would be like,"We're always losing. We're always on the bottom." He'd always just be a good person to have around. I remember the second or third week, I was ready to go home because I couldn't handle any of the people because I thought they were all crazy. Reality TV World: Everything obviously still worked out for you, but given they turned around and booted Jeff the next week, do you regret deciding to betray your alliance with Russell and Michele and team up with Kevin and Natalie instead? Jordan: In a way there is regret. But Russell's such a strong competitor, I thought it was a good move to get Russell out just because he was coming after us anyways because he kept telling Michele that. Reality TV World: You actually seemed to be the one who was pushing Jeff that you guys needed to turn on Russell -- was that the case? Jordan: Yeah. I really wanted Russell out. I didn't want him in there at all. I never really cared for Russell. I thought he was a liar. He just wasn't someone who could be trusted and I wanted him out as soon as we could get him. Reality TV World: Any update on things with Jeff? Jordan: We've talked since the show. Things are still up in there, I don't even know what's going to happen. If nothing happens, then we'll just be good friends. But if something does happen then it will be great.

- Jeff & Jordan: Up next, our own reality show!
Jeff & Jordan: Up next, our own reality show! February 12, 2010 ι Jarett Wieselman CBS doesn't typically allow cross-pollution between their reality shows -- you'll never see "Survivor's" Russell on "Undercover Boss." But every now and then, the network sees something special in a duo (like Rob & Amber) brought together by fate (or the CBS casting department) and gives them another chance to go for the gold. Such is the case with Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd. This Sunday the "Big Brother XI" sweethearts will trade their slop passes for passports when "The Amazing Race" waves its green flag on another exciting season. And since I was straight up obsessed with these two for the last half of 2009, I had a million questions. Are you still together? Why come back to reality TV? Did Jeff ever take Jordan on that Hawaiian vacation he won on "BB"? Turns out, I'm not the only one. PopWrap: Catch us up on what you've been doing since "Big Brother" ended. Jeff Schroeder: Everything's good with me and Jordan. We've seen each other a lot since "Big Brother" and doing this show let us be together more since we both still live in different cities. So right now we're just taking it day by day. PW: How does it work with being so far apart? Jeff: She likes to Skype, so we do that all the time. PW: So when I asked my readers what they wanted to know about you two, the overwhelming question was, did they go on the Hawaii trip together. So, did you? Jeff: Man, everyone loves that question! We didn't go to Hawaii -- but we're planning a trip to Antigua, which I think trumps Hawaii anyway. We're gonna stay in a tiki hut. PW: Is that the number one question you're asked by fans? Jordan Lloyd: People love that question. Jeff: Also, "are you guys still together?" But they'll ask it when I'm standing right next it her, so that's a weird one. Jordan: People also ask if there will be a Jeff and Jordan show. PW: Will there be one? Jeff: I don't have the answer to that ... but we are still together and didn't go to Hawaii [laughs]. PW: What made you sign up for another reality show? Jordan: I wanted to do "The Amazing Race" because I've never traveled and knew I wouldn't just up and go to another country by myself. I knew it would be the experience of a lifetime and I'm so glad I got to do it with Jeff. Jeff: My passion is traveling, so it was a no-brainer for me when I was approached to go around the world with Jordan. PW: Have you guys gone back and watched "BB?" Jeff: I haven't. But Jordan has. Jordan: I haven't watched everything, I've seen a lot. But it made me mad. I couldn't believe I was so naive about certain people. Especially when they showed what people were saying in the diary room. It was like, "oooh, that's what they were saying about me!" PW: I ask because they certainly showed both of you having a lot of blonde moments, so do you think other racers underestimated you because of that? Jeff: I don't know how many other teams even knew who we were at the start. Some also might not want to have admitted they did. But eventually our personalities came out and the teams became more receptive to working with us and being our friends. PW: Was that a strategy, working with other teams? Jordan: We were open to working with other teams if they were willing to work with us. In the beginning we felt very shut out by the other teams. Jeff: I don't know if we put out a bad vibe or they were jealous, but ... Jordan: It didn't feel like they wanted to work with us. So we just decided to work on our own and not worry about them. Jeff: It was the same way in the "BB" house, we depended on each other and didn't need anyone else. We were used to people not wanting to work with us after "BB," but we would have liked a little help along the way. PW: When you guys were on the starting line, did any of the teams intimidate you? Jordan: Mike and Lou are big guys! Jeff: They look intimidating, but you can't focus on that. You never know what's coming and size could be their downfall. I get into a weird mentality where I'm really worry about myself since I'm my biggest obstacle in a lot of cases. PW: Was there one country you were hoping to visit on this "Race"? Jeff: I've always wanted to go to Australia. Jordan: I'd say Scotland. Jeff: Man, she just pulled that one out of nowhere! Jordan: [laughs] I didn't really care, I just wanted to go somewhere different. PW: Compare the two shows: which is harder? Jordan: They're hard in such different ways. Jeff: "Big Brother" is like running a long race, "Amazing Race" is like doing a lot of super stressful sprints. Jordan: I'd say working together on the race was harder for me. Jeff gets so mad at me sometimes. PW: So do you think this is your last reality show, or might you pop up on "Survivor"? Jeff: I'd like to make a guest appearance on "Man vs. wild." I love that guy! Jordan: I wouldn't do any other shows ... unless it was a Jeff & Jordan show! It probably won't happen though. Jeff: Anything is possible! "The Amazing Race" premieres Sunday at 8pm on CBS

- Amazing Race's Jeff and Jordan: We Fought A Lot
Big Brother 11 - Jordan Lloyd, Jeff Schroeder While many Amazing Race contestants wait months — sometimes years — to get selected for the globe-trotting reality series, Big Brother sweethearts Jeff Schroeder, 31, and Jordan Lloyd, 23, only had to wait days. "Just a couple days after Big Brother ended, production came up to us and asked if we were interested in doing Amazing Race," Jordan, who won Big Brother 11 last summer (Jeff won fan favorite), told TVGuide.com. "We didn't hesitate. We were like, 'Yeah, we'll do it!' I don't really travel that much, and I know that I probably would never go to another country by myself, so I knew it would be something fun to do." See what else we can expect from the couple this season, and what it will take for them to do another show. The Amazing Race 16 premieres Sunday at 8/7c. TVGuide.com: You started dating while you were on Big Brother. Were you worried about how the Race would affect your relationship? Jeff: Meeting right before it, I don't think it affected anything. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing when they asked us. We just got off of Big Brother and that was a whole whirlwind, but it was definitely a good decision. TVGuide.com: Teams tend to fight a lot on the Race. Did you have that problem? Jeff: [Laughs] There was definitely a lot more bickering on the Race than there was on Big Brother, just because that it's a more stressful show. Big Brother — you're laying around in the yard all day by the pool. It gets stressful once or twice a week. On Amazing Race, you're stressed out the whole time, so obviously there's going to be more bickering and more arguing. But in the long run, it brought us closer together instead of tearing us apart. Jordan: You're going to see some bickering! Jeff throws some jabs here and there. There were times I wanted to shoot him so bad and times where he wanted to strangle me, but we got through it. TVGuide.com: Are you worried about how you might come across or be edited here? Jordan: I thought we acted exactly the same as we did on Big Brother. The only thing is we bickered more, but I don't think we'll look any different. Jeff: I think we'll look a little different. We'll look a little bit more normal. I think we came off almost too normal on Big Brother because we got along so well, so this will bring us back to reality. Every couple fights, so it makes us more normal in the end. TVGuide.com: Big Brother is a mental game, and Amazing Race is more physical. How did you approach it? Jeff: We approached it as just be ourselves, do our best, and hope for the best. Have no regrets, you know? I can't get into specifics, but certain tasks, I was very proud of Jordan. As much as we bicker, there were times I was extremely proud of Jordan and we really got along. I think the hardest thing for me was getting over me and Jordan working together in a stressful situation. I don't think any task was harder than that. Jordan: Yeah, we learned we can never do business together! TVGuide.com: Did the other contestants know who you were, and did they hold that against you? Jordan: I think, like, one or two knew who we were. I don't think anybody else did, or if they did, they didn't say anything until the Race started. Then they were like, "Oh, you were on Big Brother?" And we were like, "Yeah." Jeff: I think, early on, I don't know what it was because I can't speak for other people if they held a grudge or were jealous, but it seemed like other teams weren't working with us. However, maybe that was just in my head. I don't know what their thinking was, but I felt that way. As teams got to know us, I think they were more willing to work with us. I think, early on, it was tough for them to be friends with us. TVGuide.com: Are you still dating long-distance? Jordan: Yeah, we just got Skype, so it's easier to talk to each other. Jeff: I think this is the longest it's been that we haven't been together. We were with each other all the time, obviously through Big Brother and Amazing Race. Almost every other weekend, if not every weekend, we were together since we met on Big Brother. It kind of sucks, but it's kind of good right now because we're getting back to our old lives. Settle out from the shows and get back into the groove. Then we'll take it from there. TVGuide.com: What would you do with the $1 million? Jordan: Probably get a beach house. I love being at the beach. That's really it. I don't know. After Big Brother, I got to buy a townhouse, so I'd want a little vacation house too, because I'm only three hours from Myrtle Beach. Jeff: Strangely enough, I'd probably do a little more traveling myself. On the show, when you're racing, you don't get the chance to stop and really absorb the culture, so I'd definitely want to travel more. TVGuide.com: You've been on Big Brother, The Bold and the Beautiful and The Amazing Race. Are you taking over CBS shows? Jordan: [Laughs] No. I think this is the last reality show I want to do. Jeff: So if someone right now got on the phone and said, "Jeff and Jordan, you can have your own show on CBS," you'd say "Nah, probably not"? Jordan: Well, if it was me and you, I'd probably do it, but not something else. We're a package deal
- Jeff and Jordan Take On The Amazing Race
Big Brother’s Jeff and Jordan Take On The Amazing Race February 12, 2010 They capped off their inexplicable run on Big Brother with Jordan Lloyd emerging as the season 11 champ and Jeff Schroeder taking home the prize as America’s Favorite Player. But before the ink was even dry on their BB checks, America’s reality sweethearts signed on to compete in the 16th edition of CBS’s The Amazing Race, which starts Feb. 14. With 11 other teams, eight countries and five continents standing between them and the ultimate prize, the couple who hadn’t even had a chance to take a vacation together faced a whole new set of obstacles. Jeff, 31, and Jordan, 22, sat down with PEOPLE to talk about their new challenge. – Reagan Alexander Were you fans of the Amazing Race before signing on? Jordan: It’s kind of funny. I’ve been part of two reality shows and I had never watched either one before. I had to YouTube it, just like I did with Big Brother and figure out what everything meant, like ‘detour,’ ‘roadblock’, and all that other stuff. Jeff: I had watched it a couple of times, but I wasn’t a die-hard fan. Did your experience together on BB help you, or hurt you? Jeff: I think it helped us, and played to our strengths. I’m sure that brothers and sisters, or mothers and daughters had issues after a week of being together non-stop. What was a strain on other teams was a positive for us; we didn’t have to worry about being together all of the time, we were already use to it. Did traveling together put too much strain on you two, or do you think that it actually made you stronger? Jeff: It was definitely a strain… Jordan: (interrupting) I think it made us stronger! Jeff: (laughs) Let me finish. It was definitely a strain on the relationship, but it definitely made us stronger. The fact that we went through the hard times that we did is a testament to our relationship. This show really pushed us to the max, and it was tough, but we’re still a couple, we’re still here, and it show’s a lot that we’re still together. Do you think you two are lucky that you made it through this without going for each other’s throats? Jordan: (laughs) I think the main problem was that I was too laid back about things, because I’m not that competitive, and Jeff is so competitive. We didn’t really meet in the middle, so it went from one extreme to another. Jeff: I need to turn it down, and she needs to turn it up, (laughs) but there were moments when I did want to strangle her, and I’m sure there were times where she wanted to kill me. Was there ever a point where things got so hard that you two almost threw in the towel? Jeff: There was one point, but as much as we joke around about strangling each other, and argue, we were never, ever going to throw in the towel. We were never going to quit by any means. I don’t think it was ever an option for either one of us. Jordan: Yeah, but it was the only time though. It was the worst ever, and I was about to cry but I didn’t want to look like a baby. If you had a choose between slop for a month, and a Race food challenge, which would you take? Jordan: I’d eat slop. Before we went in, I told Jeff that I would do all the height challenges, because he’s kind of scared of heights, but that he had to eat all of the gross stuff. I can’t stand anything fishy, or oily, and I can’t eat a bug, and I know that Jeff will do it. Jeff: I would take care of eating weird stuff, but if there was something that had to be jumped off of,(laughs) it was going to be Jordan. You two went from being locked in a house for three months with a bunch of lunatics to traversing 5 continents and eight countries in a race against other cutthroat teams. Are you two just gluttons for punishment? Jeff: (laughs) No, but I look at it as an amazing story, how Jordan and I met, and how things have been working out between us. It’s definitely something to tell the grandkids type of story, and hopefully things keep working out the way they have, because as crazy as it’s been, it’s a serious relationship. I love the way things are and I wouldn’t trade it or change it for anything. Jordan, when Jeff says that it’s a story, ‘to tell the grandkids,’ what goes through your mind? Jordan: (laughs) That he’s being nice today, he’s being real sweet! Normally when I talk like that he’s like, ‘Jordan, take it easy!’
- As the Nation goes, so goes....Big Brother? - Jokers Update
As the Nation goes, so goes....Big Brother? In a good, old-fashioned showdown of Good vs. Evil - Good prevails and Jordan Lloyd is crowned the winner of Big Brother 11. By jules11, September 17, 2009 People all across the Nation are hurting right now. The economy, recession, job loss, and Healthcare – if one thing isn’t affecting you, another one is. So it’s no wonder that Big Brother 11, CBS’ summer time guilty pleasure, had it’s best ratings so far. While there are avid fans of the show since it first aired, it gained quite a few new viewers. In times like these, people want to suspend reality, even if only for an hour a night. This season was no disappointment with villains, romance, lying, cheating, stealing and an all out Good vs. Evil ending that rivals any Hollywood script. Early on, Jordan Lloyd, a waitress from North Carolina, showed that sweet Southern charm. I think most were surprised when it continued throughout the game. I know I was. She was a breath of fresh air in a world of the cynical and jaded. While she may not have been the smartest one in the house, she didn’t pretend to be either. She knows her limitations and owns them. From the beginning, Jordan had everyone in the house pegged. She was on point. When the entire house was against Jeff, she was the only one who went to him. In her interviews, when asked about this, she said that it was because she knew Jeff was a nice guy. They had similar qualities and would rather hang out with him, even if it turned people against her, than be involved in the bitterness that was carrying on. Obviously, this was the foundation of Jeff’s allegiance to her and vise-versa. In a house full of schemers and liars, you never know whom you can trust, even in your own alliance. Jeff and Jordan had the most solid alliance in Big Brother history. They knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that they could trust and count on one another completely. In this game, that’s as good as gold. The house continued to be against Jeff, however they couldn’t send him packing because of the cliques. Instead Jessie, Ronnie, Natalie, Russell and Chima picked off his friends in the game one by one, their heads growing ever larger with each eviction. Big Brother proclaims, ”Expect the Unexpected” as their tagline, but doesn’t always live up to the hype. Occasionally, America is able to be a part of the show. After all, we are Big Brother, watching the house guests’ every move; we should be able to pull a few strings here and there. When the Coup D’etat was announced to us, Americans voted in droves to award the power to Jeff. The “good guys” were at the bottom with no ladder in sight. The power couldn’t have come at a better time for Jeff and Jordan. To the average viewer, Jessie, Chima, Natalie and Ronnie appeared to be merely power hungry. It seemed unfathomable that Jessie’s ego could get any larger than what he walked in with, but, shockingly, it did. For those of us with the live feeds, we saw just how much this power was going to their heads; they wrapped themselves in it like it was a warm blanket. When Russell decided to go against the group and get rid of Ronnie, they had a huge wake-up call, but still fought for him to stay. It was amusing to watch Natalie and Jessie stammer their pleas to Russell. Natalie really wanted Lydia to go and I think it had more to do with her jealousy over her relationship with Jessie than anything else. Chima fought for Ronnie as well, although she did it while basically laying on top of Russell. Ronnie ran around to everyone in the house, begging, all the while thinking he was so masterful. But, his secret was out – he was a rat. He thought he knew everything about the game and wasn’t even all that clever. How he thought he was a mastermind is beyond me. Perhaps he meant at Dungeons and Dragons? Natalie came up with a lie that involved Michele campaigning for Ronnie to somehow take the heat off him and place it on Michele as if she had some super secret alliance with Ronnie. Russell called a house meeting to get to the bottom of it and we were introduced to Michele’s response of “I don’t remember” – a phrase that would ultimately be her downfall. In the end, Russell stuck to his guns. America knew that Jeff had the power to change the nominations, but he chose not to since he was sure Ronnie would be leaving. Jessie, Chima and Natalie all voted for him to stay thinking that someone might just throw him a sympathy vote, which didn’t happen and he was sent packing as the last person evicted before the jury house. When Chima won the following HOH competition her first instructions to the house guests were that they better not go against her. Apparently, even her enemies. Her target was Russell and she made no bones about it, acting like a woman scorned. The previous week, she yelled and screamed at Russell and he yelled back. He didn’t like her advances and according to Chima, “Americans don’t like Middle Easterners” expanding to call him a “terrorist”. The edit on the regular broadcast version made it appear that she said he was “terrorizing the house” but those of us who watched it unfold live, know that is not what was said. In fact, the footage that was shown actually happened days later. I imagine after she had a talking to due to all the enraged fans’ emails and phone calls. I personally don’t much like being smacked in the face with racism when I tune in to a mindless reality show for entertainment. Jessie was the only one who knew he could be heading to the jury house because of the special power. Chima didn’t believe, for even a split second, that anyone would go against her commands. Jessie relayed to Natalie how important it was to be nice to Jeff and thus they began a crusade to befriend him and Jordan. Everywhere they went Jessie and Natalie were right behind. Jessie and Natalie thought they were genius and it was “working” while Jeff and Jordan found it irritating and weird. As Thursday night rolled around, millions gathered around their televisions for the outcome of the power we granted. We knew Jeff would use it. We knew he would do the right thing for himself and evict Jessie – he just had to, right? We let out a collective sigh when Jeff stood for his chance to turn the table on the power in the house. No one seemed more surprised than Jordan. Hell, Jessie expected it so much he wore a special shirt for the occasion, ripping off an over-layer when Jeff placed him on the block. Unveiling a tee with a picture of himself. Flexing. Shirtless. With a caption reading, “The man, the myth, the legend.” The legend of what? Tools? We didn’t get to witness the aftermath live as CBS and production took Chima’s threats of “I’ll ruin your live show” seriously. But, Chima was fuming. During the HOH competition that followed, comment after comment flew about just how mad she was. Thankfully, Michele pulled out the win and the power shift was on an upswing as Michele had aligned herself with Jeff and Jordan. It really couldn’t have worked out any better. Well, Chima, Natalie and Lydia obviously didn’t feel this way. They held some sort of weird funeral for Jessie - crying and toasting him as if he died. Chima was furious that Russell wasn’t gone and that her power had been usurped. Stating that “Russell is a terrorist and I’m the Twin Towers”. Yes, folks, came right out of her mouth. There was even that annoying giggle directly after. Chima’s self-destruction was upon us and I loved every minute of it. Her self-entitlement knows no bounds and she believed that she could behave in any manner she pleased. She went through Russell’s belongings, found his Rosary from the Vatican and hid it. Natalie joined in as well, pulling Jeff’s clothing from his drawers and dumping it on his bed. Chima continually disregarded production requests while Natalie, Lydia and even Kevin laughed about it, adding fuel to her fire. After repeated attempts to get her in line, the last straw for Big Brother was when she threw her microphone into the hot tub. Natalie and Lydia immediately ran to retrieve it, with Natalie proclaiming, “It slipped out of her hand.” Huh? Is Natalie aware they are being filmed by hundreds of cameras at all times? Someone explained the premise of the show to her, right? It slipped? I believe this gave the producers the ammunition they needed to remove Chima from the game, which they thankfully did. She thought she owned them; she could do anything she wanted, not follow the rules within the game. But, in the end, it was she who was owned with a simple line of, “No need to sit down.” I’m pretty sure DVRs all across America worked overtime rewinding that little bit over and over again - I know mine did. Lydia flipped out, got drunk and became a raving lunatic. Natalie seemed pleased with this behavior with that smirk of hers in full display at all times. Lydia suggested they put a red M&M in Michele’s drink since she is allergic to red food dye. Kevin suggested whispering in Michele’s ear directly before the competition about her brother’s recent death. Natalie wanted to replace their belongings with other things: sour cream in the tanning lotion, something in their contact solution – things that have nothing to do with the game at hand and more about physically and emotionally hurting the others on a personal level. In the end, Kevin and Natalie came up with a lie to tell Jeff they overheard a conversation Russell and Michele had regarding “splitting up the couple”. That they were going to try to get Jeff out before their Final Four deal was in play. Oh, how they were excited. Kevin laid it out to Jeff, giving Jeff food for thought. Jeff and Jordan confronted Michele about it and she gave her now standard response, “I don’t remember”, immediately casting doubt on herself. Later, she even furthered it by saying that Russell wanted Jeff out next week. This is the moment that Jordan began to go against her gut. She became confused and mistrusting of her own thoughts about people. Had Michele not been in Jordan’s ear already in regards to not trusting Russell and repeating and making up things he said negatively towards her, this wouldn’t have worked at all. Michele unknowingly laid the groundwork and the “Last Minute Lie” gained momentum. In the end, Jordan chose to evict Lydia keeping the numbers in their favor for the next week. Jeff won the next HOH and we were thrilled. The affable, genuine, funny and entertaining Jeff, finally truly had the power he needed. We cheered as a whole and then immediately cringed as one when Jeff made a deal with Natalie and Kevin. Well, okay, I screamed a little. But, Jeff doesn’t have the live feeds as we do, he can only go by what information he’s given, so he made his decision based on that. He took Russell out, which wasn’t such a terrible move, however he should have waited a week. With Russell gone and Kevin winning the following HOH competition, we were able to see the lengths he and Natalie would go to in their despicable behavior. I mean, Natalie cheated in pool and chess and that didn’t even have anything to do with the game of Big Brother. She lied and rationalized every one of them. She believed them. She bossed everyone around as if she owned the place. Jeff and Michele were placed on the block with Jeff, of course, as the target. Before the POV competition, Natalie and Kevin, once again, rummaged through Michele’s belongings, found her competition gloves, took them and stuffed them in Natalie’s bag. And loved every minute of it. What’s interesting about this is that Michele was asleep in the HOH room at the time. She wanted to talk to Kevin, but fell asleep and he ran out of the room as soon as he saw her. When she awoke, she saw the Rule Book and decided to read it. Directly underneath it was the famous calendar that Natalie and Kevin made from Play-Doh. Michele looked at it, moved a couple of things around and simply shrugged. In the meantime, Natalie and Kevin were back outside playing pool when Kevin thought about the calendar being up there and how Michele could find it. Natalie’s response? “That crazy bitch better not go through our stuff. Who would do something like that? I’ll cut a bitch.” Yes, Natalie goes through Michele’s drawers, find her gloves, steals them, then two minutes later says that she’ll “cut a bitch” for doing the exact same thing. Michele won the POV and removed herself from the block. Jeff and Jordan were crushed. They knew Jeff would be the one leaving and both of their heads were spinning. Jordan truly believed Jeff deserved to be there over her and Jeff felt the guilt of wanting to stay over his best friend in the house – a person he developed genuine feelings for. As Jordan cried and drank an entire bottle of wine and started on another, Natalie and Kevin came up with a new plan to hurt Michele for no apparent reason. Natalie wanted Jeff to pretend to like Michele romantically. It was apparent to all of us that she had a huge crush on Jeff, but seriously, who didn’t. The difference is that she fawned over him and followed him and Jordan everywhere they went at an uncomfortable pace. Natalie wanted Jeff to use Michele’s feeling for Jeff to get her to use the veto on him instead of herself. I almost threw up listening. Who behaves this way? They knew that Michele would never do it; they just wanted to really hurt her and Jeff in the process. Poor Jordan stepped into the lion’s den when they told her about it. She was wasted and vulnerable and Natalie and Kevin knew it. Jordan agreed that it was a great idea and when Jeff came out and Natalie told him about it, Jordan went right along with it. I don’t care what your feelings about Jeff were at this point, the moment he opened his mouth you knew the character of the man. He wouldn’t agree to do anything like that for a million dollars, much less $500K. He let them know that he wasn’t that guy and shut them down instantly. While Natalie kept trying, Kevin seemed to back away when he knew Jeff wasn’t going for it. When Jeff stormed into the house, Natalie continued to work on Jordan, with Kevin and finally Jordan saying it was a lost cause. Jeff was evicted to America’s dismay. He was the good guy! But, he lost, it hurts, he gone. While Jordan cried, Michele comforted her and assured her that she had her back. It would be her and Jordan against Natalie and Kevin until the end. Jordan let Michele know that Jeff told her to “stick with Michele” and that’s what she planned to do. But, she was heartbroken. Somewhere, during the two months they were there, Jordan fell for Jeff. I’m pretty sure the feelings are mutual. I don’t think she realized how much she really did like him until it was apparent that he would be leaving. I commend them on not putting their feelings on display for all of America. Of course, we are all clamoring to know what’s going to happen with their relationship in the future. But, honestly, that’s why I think the feelings are genuine. They are protecting them. What they have is special to them and is their life outside of the game – not for public consumption. Natalie went on to win the HOH in a tiebreaker. And apparently did so “without breaking her word”. I’m not exactly sure how that works though – Julie asked questions and they answered “Fact” or “Fiction”. In fact, no one except Julie even spoke. So, while Michele and Jordan gave each other pep talks, Natalie and Kevin cheated each other at chess and schemed of ways to pull pranks on the girls. The kitchen water-spray trick, Saran Wrap on the toilet seat, and oh yeah, bleach in Michele’s contact solution. Blindness always gets a laugh. The things Kevin and Natalie have said throughout the game are horrific. Natalie is no villain. A good villain has redeeming qualities. They have to make you see something else in them to be interested enough to want to watch them – to hope they change their behavior. Natalie is no villain; she’s just straight-up evil. She’s a pathological liar and from everything we witnessed 24/7, I believe she’s a sociopath – she’s a liar and believes those lies as truths, a thief, a cheater, is self-righteous, homophobic, believes she’s entitled to everything, including others’ belongings, thinks that everything is about her and for her and cannot control her behavior. I find nothing redeeming in Natalie. Natalie dressed as Flava Flav for her nomination ceremony and practiced her speech for hours. What wasn’t shown on the regular broadcast, was her repeatedly telling Michele that she wasn’t a good Christian. That Michele aligned with the devil and now she would face the consequences. She repeated what a good Christian she was and how Michele was now the devil. Confused? Believe me, I watched it live and still don’t understand. In the end, Michele went up with Kevin alongside as a feeble attempt to throw the girls off Kevin and Natalie’s alliance. Kevin won the POV, saving himself and Jordan went up in his place. As Kevin was the only vote, Michele was out - but not before one last awkward speech on Michele's part including devil horns. To no one’s surprise, it didn’t help her at all and Jordan was left - Cinderella vs. the two evil stepsisters. Well, I guess, stepbrother, but it doesn’t really have the same ring to it, does it? Going into the final HOH competition, we knew of Kevin and Natalie’s plan. Kevin was to win the first round of the competition, with Natalie winning the second round – she “guarantees she’ll win” as apparently, “Jordan is stupid and has nothing on her.” So, once again, a Nation of Jordan fans collectively held our breath as the log rolling competition began. She had this in the bag – we just knew it. Natalie was in trouble almost immediately. She twirled around and almost slipped off, only to save herself. She knew she was in trouble yet again, so her only tactic was to distract Jordan. It began with “I bet Michele’s loving being in the jury house with Jeff. Finally, all alone with him.” When she didn’t the reaction she was looking for, she began telling Jordan how cold she looked all the while blue and shaking. Most of us have seen the screen capture of Natalie’s hand only on the rope and not on her key as they were instructed. I truly believe she should have been disqualified for this. She cheated at pool and chess when there was no reason for it. She admitted to cheating during the OTEV competition. I imagine she cheated in anything she could. Why this behavior was allowed is beyond me and frankly beyond the game. Kevin was turned to the side, with his back completely facing Jordan when they were told to face to pool when Jordan asked if she could turn around. He bragged about watching the gears on the mechanism controlling the log and it was apparent just watching that that was what he was doing. And all the while, Jordan just continues to play the game on her own merit within the rules of the game. Just before the four-hour mark, she slipped and was out of the running for the first round of the three-part series. As soon as she walked inside, Natalie made Kevin confirm again that he would take her to the end no matter what and he obliged. She jumped off with Kevin winning the first round. I was crushed. I wanted so badly for Jordan to win and gain her self-confidence back. Leading up to the second round, Kevin and Natalie continually blew Jordan off as a competitor. Apparently, she didn’t matter – she was only “1/2 a competitor” anyway. Again, Natalie guaranteed she’d win. At the same time, everyone made deals with each other. It seemed like Kevin would take Jordan if he won, Jordan would take Natalie and Natalie would take Kevin. But who really knew with these three? When Thursday’s show rolled around, I was on the edge of my seat. Jordan repeatedly said she became nervous on the live shows and this was the one time she couldn’t give in to that - the difference is this time Jordan knew it as well. She knew she had to win this game to stay in the running to make it to the Finals. Natalie went first and was almost instantly thrown off when she accidentally got the wrong ball into the wrong hole. But, that’s a part of the game. You take it into account and move forward from there. She didn’t and even put another one in the wrong spot. The total she had right were five. Jordan was up next and we knew she had it. If she didn’t make the same mistake as Natalie, she would most certainly win. She started with a bang, but then accidentally got the wrong ball in. However, she realized where she had to go from there and it became her only mistake, making her correct answers: nine. The studio audience couldn’t contain their enthusiasm for Jordan – even though I imagine they were instructed otherwise. And we, at home, were cheering right along with them. I actually felt proud of her - a person I don’t even know. Good had triumphed and it was about time. Fans of Big Brother can agree that the next five days were filled with anxiety and impatience – I can only imagine what Kevin, Natalie and Jordan felt. Natalie continued on in her smug way, assuming that whomever won would take her with them in the Final Two. Kevin worried about Jordan taking him as she said she would and Jordan worried about Kevin doing the same. However, I think Jordan was less worried at this point. She seemed to know that it didn’t really matter what he said – she needed to win the final round for herself. Don’t get me wrong, of course she wanted Kevin to take her, but she knew it was in her hands to take herself. Almost 7-1/2 million households tuned in to see who would win Big Brother. Would it be Kevin, who floated and lied his way through the game to get to his position? Would it be Natalie who didn’t deserve a single penny as a reward for her behavior? Or would it be Jordan, the sweet and generous girl who made it to the end without lying and scheming at every turn and her true self intact? The final round of the last HOH were questions on how the jury would answer. Jordan took the lead and Kevin tied it up on the next one. We groaned at home, along with the studio audience, when Jordan got Jeff’s answer wrong, even though he’d said it hundreds of times. But, in the end, Jordan won in a tiebreaker question and her fate was in her own hands. In choosing Natalie as her final opponent, she chose wisely. During the jury’s questions, Jordan was her sweet, honest and ditzy self. Natalie stayed true to herself as well and continued lying and taking credit for other people’s actions in the house. But, this time, she didn’t get away with it. In a final vote of 5-2, Jordan won the 11th season of Big Brother and the crowd went wild! Some Big Brother fans say that Jordan shouldn’t have won and it’s a travesty to the game itself. “She didn’t have a strategy.” “She didn’t make any big moves.” I’m left to wonder why you have to lie to be considered a decent player. Jordan was Jordan and won the competitions she needed to win at the time she needed to win them, all with a huge smile on her face. Natalie lied and schemed, but never won, she counted on others to do it for her. She lied, cheated and stole and in this day and age, it seems that is what gets you ahead. But, you know what? We’re sick of it. We see it everyday and Natalie Martinez didn’t deserve to be rewarded for her atrocious behavior. She already sees nothing wrong with it and winning would have only fueled it. If we can’t personally take on Lehman Brothers or AIG, we sure as hell can cast a vote for someone who represents what we’d like to see in this world – simple, old-fashioned good. It’s time for the people who work an honest job, scrape by, help and love their family, friends and neighbors to get a leg up for a change. I think that’s what Jordan represents to many Americans. You couldn’t have watched her for over two months and not fallen in love with her. The kindness and generosity she showed towards everyone in the house, including her enemies, are characteristics that seem to have long been forgotten in today’s society. I, for one, am glad that someone has shown that you can get ahead without resorting to despicable behavior. Jordan Lloyd came in to the Big Brother house with a smile on her face and left with an even bigger one. The sweet Southern gal defeated someone who took pride in the pain she caused others and did so without stooping to her level. For me, Jordan did more than give me a guilty pleasure this summer; she gave me hope that there are still decent people out there. She proved to America that winning at all costs is never actually winning. But, most of all she proved that good could prevail over evil. I’m sure that in the not so distant future, Natalie will get what’s due to her. But, today, Jordan got her due and she’s $500,000 richer for it. So, congratulations, Jordan! I’ve never felt a contestant deserved a win more than you and I doubt none have ever appreciated it more. Now, go get mama that house!
- JEJO - Reality Bites Back Exit Interview
The Amazing Race Exclusive Interview with Jeff and Jordan Did The Amazing Race strengthen your relationship? Jordan: It did strengthen our relationship before we went on the show I was thinking this is either going to make or break us and it actually really helped a lot. It helped me to understand a lot of things about Jeff. Before he was telling me something and I would get upset, I'd say "Why are you yelling at me?" And he would say "I'm not yelling at you." But then I'd say "The tone it's the way you are talking to me." I figured that is just Jeff, that is just how Jeff is and I think our relationship has gotten even better since being on The Amazing Race. Do you feel the same Jeff? Jeff: Yes I do I think we learned a lot about each other being on both shows (Big Brother and The Amazing Race) about our relationship. Everything on Big Brother was so hunky dory and lovey dovey there wasn't a bad moment between us. And like with any relationship with its ups and downs I knew it would have to get stressful at one point and we just happened to get thrown into the boiling water with this show. So I knew things would get real stressful and definitely what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. It didn't kill us we had our low points and we learned from it and so I think definitely yes we got stronger from it. So then you are definitely still a couple? Jordan: We are! Were you recognized by people because you were on Big Brother? Not by other couples in the race but out and about? Jordan: No not in other Countries, but in the States at the LAX airport. People would ask "Oh what are you doing?" And we were OK we have matching blue shirts and backpacks and we'd say "Oh nothing" and try not to talk about it. But people would say "We know you are on the race and good luck" but we couldn't talk about it. We would just say we are doing a travel show but nobody from the other Countries recognized us. Jeff: Nothing to the extent where it helped us out in anyway, let's put it that way! Jordan: At Elimination Station in Puerto Vallarta we were recognized because it's a touristy spot. Jeff: Oh Jordan's getting a big head... Jordan: NO I'm not!! (Both laugh) What surprised you the most about yourself? Jeff: I think what we learned most, I don't know about surprising ourselves, I'm definitely too competitive.... Jordan: Wayyyyy to competitive... Jeff: Jeez let me finish (both laugh) I need to take it down a couple notches. You (Jordan) need to turn it up a notch or two in certain situations. We need to meet in the middle so we definitely learned that about each other. When there is a situation, what ever we are doing, I need to sit back and realize who I am dealing with and I don't need to be as aggressive as I usually am. So I learned that about myself is that I need to take it down a little bit and hopefully she learned that she needs to crank it up a couple of notches during situations. Jordan: Ya. Both of you said in your Bios that communicating would be your biggest challenge do you feel you overcame that? Jordan: NO! Not at all. That was the worst we have no communication what so ever that was like the worst part. We were just terrible at that. Jeff: Ya there was no... I mean we communicate... Um no we didn't... Jordan: No we didn't Jeff: Ya I'm not even going to try and put a positive spin on that. Jordan: I think maybe if we would have communicated a bit better I think it would have helped us. But we just did not see eye to eye about certain things. Whenever we had a detour we had to do what he always wanted to do the opposite and we both wanted to do different things. My fault was not sticking up and saying "No Jeff we are going to do this." Instead of being OK and just following him. Jeff: Yes I definitely get stubborn at points and that has been my whole life. When I get something in my head, it's in there and I don't know that was just a downfall for us the communication. But I think we learned from that too. To know you did anything wrong is to better yourself. I understand I'm like that I understand our communication is like that so we have to work on that. So I think if you learn from things it just makes you better. Again, it made us better in the end. See Jeff you did find a positive spin! Jeff: Well there you go! Did you learn something about each other that you didn't already know? You were together 24/7 in the Big Brother House so you pretty much knew everything, but was there anything on the race that you didn't know and then found out? Jeff: Jordan is gassier than the normal person (Both laugh real hard) Jordan: I think I didn't realize how competitive he was and mean on Big Brother he didn't seem that bad but on The Amazing Race he was and he got on my nerves a lot. But that is really it. Jeff: Jordan can be very stubborn if she wants to. I really didn't see that on Big Brother she was so laid back, nothing really got to her. But on the Race things got very stressful and I saw her stubborn side and a side of her I didn't like. But there were probably 10 sides of me she didn't like so we just have to move on from that and learn from it. Jordan: And Jeff, like he said, he gets something in his head and it's more like what Jeff wants we didn't decide as a group. He would say, "Let's do this" and there was no talking to him about it. That was annoying for me. Jeff: I don't want to get into a whole thing but I would say "Which way do you want to go?" and she would say "I don't care." Somebody had to make the decisions and sometimes I think it's easier for the other person to say "You make the decisions" so fingers can't be pointed. That is what stressed me out more. I make the decision and I'll take the blame for it. I won't point the finger at anyone else that is just how I am. I wish it were different but that is just how I am. But I am more than willing to follow too so step it up a notch! On The Amazing Race what was your proudest moment? Jordan: Mine was to walk on the wire and bungee jumping. When I did the wire thing I wasn't nervous at first and then when I got to the middle of it the wire started shaking and oh my gosh if I fell I knew I wasn't going to be able to pull myself back up. And just to be able to do that and then the bungee jump, I actually will say when I got up there I thought I don't want to do this. You have to make yourself go it's not like someone was pushing you, so I was proud that I did that. Jeff: I will give the proudest moment to Jordan too. When she crossed that wire I was really, really proud of her. We were really clicking as a team. She put her trust in me and I put my trust in her and she stood up and did it like a champion and look what happened we won that leg. We need to believe in each other as we did in that first leg and do that in life and we will be OK I think. That was definitely the proudest moment for me on the race. Jordan you said what you wanted to accomplish on The Race was to understand each other do you feel you accomplished that? Jordan: I did, I really think I did. Since the race we have gotten along so much better and I think it really did help. Before I thought it would make or break and it helped. We get along so much better now which is good! Jeff you said you wanted to learn more about your relationship, did you? Jeff: Definitely! It helped me to understand about everything and in tough times that is when you learn the most. Anyone can go through life or any situation saying yea we are having the best time, everything is perfect. Your learning comes from when you are down and out and things are going bad. We definitely had our bad moments and we definitely learned from them, so ya we learned a lot about each other on this race and it was all for the best. In your interview with Phil at the end of the race you said you needed to talk about "stuff". Did you and Jordan talk about that "stuff"? Both: Oh ya!!! Jordan: At Elimination Station... Jeff: We usually talked about things that evening when everything is done. Jordan is good about let's sit down and talk about it and I'm not a really big let's talk it out type person. She is good about that and I like that about her. She likes to get things out in the open and then we take care of it right there. Jordan: Jeff is very straight forward and tells you exactly how he feels, like he'll say "You are just being annoying" and he will just flat out tell you. And we are so honest with each other it helps. Jeff you said you wanted to be more patient, are you now? Jeff: Am I Jordan? Jordan: I think he is much better than he was before. Before I was like Oh my gosh I cannot take this. But he is definitely a lot more patient. Jeff: Patience was my thing my whole life. I was never patient as a kid I was always jumping around on my seat in class; I was always wired so patience is something I have been working on and will still be working on the rest of my life. But I think I have it to a point where I got it and my temper under control and my patience has improved a lot being with Jordan and trying to be really patient with her. It's a good thing; patience is a virtue they say. Was your time in Puerto Vallarta a nice vacation and did it replace that vacation you were suppose to take together? Both: No we still have to take it. Jordan: I think more so when we were in Puerto Vallarta Jeff was still upset about not being in the race. Jeff: I'm just a sore loser I'll tell you that straight out! Jordan: He is he is a sore loser. Me I was just like we lost, it's over we are somewhere we can lay out and be on the beach and I was fine with that. Jeff: I'm not a sore loser in the way I call everyone out and say "You suck." I definitely don't point fingers at anyone, I get more mad at myself thinking I could've done better I get hard on myself. I did have a bit of a pity party, but the ocean and the margaritas kind of wiped that party away. (Both laugh) I had a good time at the end but it still wasn't alone. Other people were there and the cameras were there so Jordan and I definitely need to by ourselves, get away and just enjoy each other. Would either of you consider doing a Big Brother All Stars or The Amazing Race All Stars if asked? Jordan: I think a Big Brother All Stars I would just need break from Big Brother because that was a lot, I don't think people realize even though you are sitting around the house being bored, it takes a lot out of you just because you go through all these emotions. But I would for sure do another Amazing Race. Jeff: I don't know how we would make an Amazing Race All Stars because we definitely weren't all stars. Well it's based on popularity and I'm not sure you realize it, but you had a lot of people pulling for you on The Amazing Race and watched this season because of Jeff and Jordan. Jeff: Right and The Amazing Race is The Amazing Race and I don't think we did anything because it is an amazing show and they will get their viewers no matter what. But to answer the question if we were asked to do The Amazing Race All Stars I think we would 100% do it again. We do have some regrets from what we did and we would work better as a team. You learn from any experience and the second time you are going to do better.
- Digital Spy TAR Interview with JeJo
Jordan & Jeff ('The Amazing Race') Monday, March 22 2010, 2:49pm EDT By Lara Martin, News Editor CBS Big Brother couple Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder were arguably the fan favorites when they entered The Amazing Race. After charming America as housemates, the duo went on to win overviewers as they battled detours and roadblocks from Argentina to Europe. Unfortunately, their luck ran out during last night's champagne-themed week in France, and they became the latest team to be eliminated from the competition. We gave them a call to chat about the experience and whether there is any more reality TV in their future... How did you go from Big Brother to The Amazing Race? Jeff: "Being on Big Brother probably helped us out a lot. We were approached by the production team about whether we were interested in doing it. We applied, but I'm sure being on the show definitely gave us a leg up. We were totally interested in doing it and we got on!" Were you worried at how the race pressures might affect your relationship, particularly as you had only started dating? Jeff: "Absolutely. It's like any relationship, it has its up and downs like anything in life and being thrown into a situation like this is stressful on a relationship, and especially on a new relationship. I was definitely aware that it would be a different type of game, but I don't think either of us were prepared for how stressful it was or what we would go through on the race, but all in all it made us stronger in the end and I'm glad we did it." You've obviously lived in close proximity to each other before, but did you discover anything about each other during the race that you didn't know about? Jordan: "I didn't realize how competitive Jeff is and that if he has somethingin his head that he wants to do there is no changing his mind because he is so confident he is going to accomplish it." Jeff: "So she's saying in a nice way that I'm stubborn! I think we both discovered that I need to turn the competitiveness down a little bit and she needs to turn it up a little bit. We also learned a lot of different things we need to meet in the middle in, and we saw some points in each other that we needed to work on because we didn't like that about each other. We learned from our mistakes and it's made us stronger in the end which I'm thankful for." How did Big Brother and The Amazing Race compare - did you prefer one over the other? Jeff: "They are incomparable to anything and I don't want to put one down over the other. I think The Amazing Race was more my style because it's about traveling and I've loved that my whole life. But Big Brother was an experience of a lifetime in itself. If I had to pick either of the two I'd say traveling is more my style." Jordan: "I agree, I would say The Amazing Race more so because you're not just stuck in one place, you can travel to different countries and get to do all these exciting tasks. I'm glad I did Big Brother but The Amazing Race was just more fun for me." Did people recognize you outside the States? Jordan: "I don't think anybody outside the States recognized us but in the States at LAX airport people were coming up to us saying things, and of course it was obvious because we were wearing matching bookbags and matching shirts." Jeff: "Just a handful of people recognized us and it didn't help us anyway inthe race. They weren't like, 'Here's some money', it was more, 'Hey,what's up? We know you from Big Brother! Are you still together?' It was nothing that gave us a leg up, although I wish it would have!" You seemed to have a string of misfortune, but also a lot of luck such as the non-elimination leg. Were you expecting to get this far? Jeff: " I was expecting to win to be honest with you, I don't think anybody should do anything unless they expect the best from themselves. Looking back, we got so lucky and it was a blessing we got to stay as long as we did. We should have been out in Germany with the non-elimination, we were last in France but luckily there was the U-Turn. We got so far behind with all that stuff going on and the extra task we had to do,and waiting for other teams to finish. It was a stressful couple of legs of the race because we were last and I think you then make decisions you don't really think about because you're trying to rush. We made all the wrong decisions starting from that cab ride in Germany. It was a string of misfortune like you said!" Did you know you were in bottom place last night? Jeff: "Yes we knew. Every single thing they told us to do we did the opposite! Getting out of that town took us forever, we did everything wrong! But it was so bad that we did everything wrong it became comical, which is why we were so relaxed about everything. We just wanted to finish with our heads high and classy, and I think that's what we did and it was a good way to exit." What was your favorite memory from the race? Jordan: "Mine would be walking the wire in Chile, and Germany, too. I liked it there because it was around Christmas and there were lots of pretty decorations that looked so good, and they had good hamburgers!" Jeff: "Mine was winning the first leg of course, because that was very memorable and awesome. The whole leg was just great and we got on perfectly as a teamand clicked. And as much as we hated each other during that WW2 thing -that was definitely our downfall - that was the coolest thing ever with the bombs and the planes, because it was so realistic." You've done Big Brother and The Amazing Race, any other reality shows in the future? Maybe Survivor?! Jordan: "I would be terrible at that! Probably not!" Jeff:"I think we need a reality break. I think people are getting tired of us being on TV. I would love to continue but it's like if I went on Survivor, what sort of chance would I have? People would be like, 'This guy has a silver spoon'. I don't think I'd have a fair shot at it even though I'd love to. I have two experiences that were once in a lifetime and I gotto do it twice." So what are your plans for the future, then? Jordan: "I'm back at the salon and then I'm going to take some summer school classes, and me and Jeff are going to take a trip to Antiqua together later this year. My mom turns 50 on Thursday so we're also planning a cruise with the family. That's really it for me so far!" Jeff: "That sounds like a lot!"
